EE update #2- £100 deposit, not worth the stress.

Yesterday I received a letter from the EE/BT complaints department, regarding a cash £100 deposit I paid EE Crawley in December 2021 They have done an extensive review of the matter and could not find any evidence of a deposit paid in by me, over two years ago, at the start of a contract. This is basically a “no recipient so no deposit return situation.” I am 66 and have Physical health issues, which make it unwise to progress this issue. I have no receipt and I am not pursuing this complaint any further. Anxiety and stress have also become an issue for me recently. Keeping things in proportion, this pensioner is walking away from the situation and the £100, with peaceful intent. Meanwhile central index are impossible to get hold of.

EE review update

The review I posted here, related to a £100 loss at EE, should be treated as an allegation. I now understand that some of the wording in this review is inappropriate. I am in contact with centralindex on a daily basis, to request removal of this review.

Scammed of £100

Went to EE Crawley two years ago because we were still paying them for a phone that my wife owned outright already. We did a deal which involved getting a new phone upgrade and switched our broadband to EE as well, on new contracts. Joshua, the sales rep, told us we had to pay a £100 cash deposit because their card machine was broken. He told us that this deposit would be put in an envelope in the safe with our name on it. No receipt was given for the cash deposit. When we went back to the store and asked for our deposit back, they had no record of it. With some effort we went through the formal EE/BT complaints procedure. The outcome of this was that we could not have our money back, because there was no receipt. We are in our 60s and have been scammed by these guys. Shame on you Joshua, Senior Advisor, EE, Crawley. Do not be conned by these people.
